Amalia Barbozas work deals since several years with the extraction of the construction and arrangement of public and private spaces. Therefore she puts herself under use of different medias. She extracts determined elements, which are characterized by these spaces. These prominent elements become abstracted, isolated or combined by Amalia Barboza in a new way, whereby their usual coherence get lost and they are able to be experienced in a new way by the viewer. Amalia Barboza discusses at the same time, how people evade to the space, move it and get accustomed to it – but just as important is the observance of the space itself, which has a kind of independent life and through that determines its inhabitants.
In the exhibition „Ansiedlungen“ (Settlements) she displays new works, which originate from dealing with the areas of >estates of prefabricated houses< and >Circus<.
