The Chase, The Run, The Kiss – in short: LOVE. The dark and humorous aspects of love are being presented by Britta Jonas (born 1972) in their various facets.

The artist developed during the last years a detailed motive language based on ornamental fragments and ornaments of native art from different countries. Figures, reduced to their silhouettes follow looplike abstract codes of behaviour.
The well of inspiration of the Dresden Sculptor Britta Jonas derives from any >museum of local history<, understood as a place where various objects are presented to invent or tell a story of a region.
In her first solo exhibition Britta Jonas will show Die Jagd, Der Lauf, Der Kuss she will present a wooden relief made with a coping saw and silkscreen on diverse materials. Her motives irritate the spectator with their contradictions and inconsistencies.
