Defrag Dream

09/30/2005 – 10/24/2005

Christian Korths work consists of fragments of memory, which he combines to form >contemporary time witness accumulations<.
The fragments of memory that his objects are made of are represented by furniture, rubbish or other objekts of daily use that he melts together under a transparent shrink foil wrapping. These >contemporary time witness accumulations< stand for themselves, while at the same time, they refer to a set of short stories and incidents - like a memory fragment.

Korths constructions and reconstructions move slickly between obvious and hidden everyday life.
Besides his shrink foil works, he exhibits his approach in figurative brazen sculptures at his show. Contrastive, concerning material and theme the brazen sculptures add the human factor to his main work line.

Christian Korth was born in Seattle 1972. He studied sculpture at the HfBK Dresden and lives and works in Dresden.
