In meiner Strasse

10/29/2005 – 11/19/2005

For Heinz Schmöller the visual discussion with ones personality and own perception is the main motivation for his work. That is why he shows places and objects in his first single exhibition at Diskus Gallery which are directly connected to his living environment.
The video In meiner Straße („In my street“) shows for example a cyclops on its march through the artists residential quarter in Dresden, whereby his livingroom window becomes a projection screen for a stop-motion monsterfilm. A memory of childhood, when the film plot seems to repeat itself in reality.
With an exemplary reproduction of his grandparents house, he creates a room to cope with situations from the past. This central, miniature meetingplace of his childhood enables insight, review and outlook at the same time.
The portrayed presence of Heinz Schmöller is represented in his work „Liege“. The mobile, collapsible suncouch made of aluminum, on which as a reference the artist himself is lying, connects recapitulated existence and conscious absence.
